Queensland League Round-Up & Championship Pairings

Congratulations to John Mitchels for winning the Queensland League this year in all three football grades. Each league was keenly contested with quality opposition leading to some very exciting games. There is very little between the teams, and this will make for a championship to remember in 2011!

In the Hurling League, congratulations to Na Fianna who have finished at the top of the table and will be rewarded with a spot in the Final, where they will play the winners of this Saturday’s Semi Final between Ch Cuhllains and the newly formed in 2011 Emeralds team. There has been some great display of hurling this year, and it is fantastic news that we have a third team in the mix this year.

On the Camogie front, we are very pleased to see Camogie get off the grounds this year, and to have three teams in the league and championship! This will be a great foundation for the historical occasion this year of Queensland having the first Camogie team in the Australasian games in October 2011!

Congratulations to Eire Og who have won the championship prelimirary rounds to secure a place in the Grand Final on Saturday week! This Saturday, Naomh Padraig will play Cul Cailini to see who will join Eire Og in the final of this historical competition! Well done to everyone involved in making this Camogie Championship possible!

In the Senior Football Championship, John Mithchels have a bye to the Semi Final where they will meet the winners of this Sunday’s Quarter Final between Souths and Shamrocks. In the other Semi Final, Easts Celts will meet Harps.

The Women’s football championship will see the same pairings too, Souths against Shamrocks in this weekend’s Quarter Final, with a place against John Mitchels in the semi final at stake. The other Semi Final will see a meeting between Harps and Easts Celts.

There is no quarter final in the reserves, so all competing teams are in the semi finals, with John Mitchels playing Easts, while Harps are playing against Souths in the other side of the draw.

Check out the ladders and fixtures sections for more information, and we hope you all have a great championship! Good luck to everyone, and enjoy the next few weeks!
