The Queensland Hurling League got underway on Saturday 11th June at Willawong, with a hard fought game between CuChullains and Na Fianna. CuChullains had a strong start to the game, and once NaFianna go into the game it was a tough close encounter. At the end it was to be NaFianna’s day, defeating CuChullains with a scoreline of 2-16 to 1-14.

On Friday 10th June, the Carpenter Cup Finals were played at Willawong. The pitch held up well for a good evening of football. It was a pleasure to have Sally Carpenter at the grounds to present the new trophies to the winning teams.
